Ms. Szeto counsels clients with the legal structuring of their businesses, the drafting of employment-related documents, and vendor and lease agreements. She has also assisted with incorporations, dissolutions, mergers and acquisitions.
In addition, Ms. Szeto assists real estate and landlord - tenant clients in eviction proceedings, drafts and reviews leases, and provides counseling with landlord - tenant and neighbor disputes. She also represents clients with employment law matters, wage and hour disputes, breach of contract matters, and real property ownership disputes.
One of Ms. Szeto's strongest assets is her ability to draw upon her own experiences to understand her clients' needs. Having worked with businesses, employers and homeowners, Ms. Szeto has a keen appreciation for the issues they confront.
A zealous advocate for the community, Ms. Szeto also volunteered as an English language tutor for adults, and as an interviewer for UC Berkeley achievement award scholarships benefiting commendable undergraduate students. Ms. Szeto has also volunteered as a pro bono attorney in immigration and landlord - tenant matters.
Ms. Szeto obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley and her law degree at the University
of California, Hastings College of the Law.
She has lived in Beijing and speaks Cantonese and Mandarin. Through her studies in college and her living experience in Michoacan, Mexico, Ms. Szeto learned to speak Spanish.
Ms. Szeto is a member of the California Sate Bar and has also been admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Northern District of California. She is also a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
